Burtonfest returns in 2009 for its fourth festival.
Whereas the festival is often thought of just being one weekend in June, Burtonfest actually operates all year round, with music workshops for kids & young adults being held from October onwards. The committee also hold numerous smaller events during the year to help, keeping a social awareness and raising funds to help keep the ticket prices down.
The committee normally sit just once a month throughout the calendar year, although in the month before festival weekend this is expanded to become weekly to allow the late notice changes to be finalised.
Festival weekend is held on the playing fields in the pretty North Lincolnshire village of Burton-Upon-Stather. In the week before, a large marquee is erected and the playing fields are converted into a professional music venue. With two days to go, the committee & volunteers step up into overdrive putting the finishing touches to the venue, ready to receive the first guests on Friday night.
